These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WorkAm mobile application ("App") and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
WorkAm is a business management application for Nigerian small and medium enterprises, provided by GetWorkAm LTD, a company registered in Nigeria.
1. Definitions
- "You" / "User" — the individual or business using the App
- "Business Account" — your business profile within WorkAm
- "Content" — any data you enter into the App (sales, inventory, expenses, contacts, etc.)
- "Subscription" — a paid plan (Growth or Pro) that grants access to the Service
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under Nigerian law. By using the App, you represent that you have the authority to act on behalf of the business you register.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, PIN, and any devices used to access the App
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- One business account per registered business. You may add team members under your account with appropriate roles
4. The Service
4.1 What WorkAm Provides
WorkAm is a tool to help you manage your business operations, including:
- Recording sales and tracking revenue
- Managing inventory and products
- Tracking expenses
- Managing customer contacts and debts
- Sending payment reminders via WhatsApp
- Generating business reports
- Processing payroll (Pro plan)
- Creating quotes and invoices (Pro plan)
4.2 What WorkAm Does NOT Provide
- Tax advice or filing. WorkAm calculates VAT and PAYE estimates, but we are not a tax adviser. Consult a qualified accountant or the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for tax matters.
- Accounting certification. Reports generated by WorkAm are for your internal use. They do not constitute audited financial statements.
- Payment processing. Subscription payments are processed by Paystack. We do not handle your card details.
- Legal or financial advice of any kind.
4.3 Offline-First Architecture
Your business data is stored on your device first. Cloud sync is a secondary backup. This means:
- The App works without internet access
- If our servers are temporarily unavailable, your data remains accessible on your device
- You are responsible for backing up your device
5. Subscription Plans & Payment
5.1 Free Trial
New users receive a 30-day free trial with Growth-level features. No payment is required during the trial. You may upgrade to Pro at any time during the trial.
5.2 Paid Plans

All prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and include applicable taxes.
5.3 Billing
- Payments are processed through Paystack in Nigerian Naira
- Monthly subscriptions renew every 30 days from the date of purchase
- Annual subscriptions renew every 12 months from the date of purchase
- You will be notified before each renewal
5.4 Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds are issued for partial billing periods
- After cancellation, you retain read-only access to your existing data and can export it at any time
5.5 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with 30 days' prior notice. Price changes apply to the next billing cycle, not the current one. If you disagree with a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
5.6 What Happens After Trial Ends
If you do not upgrade after the trial period:
- Your data remains safe on your device and our servers
- You can view and export all your records
- You cannot create new sales, expenses, or inventory items until you subscribe
- You can upgrade at any time to resume full access
6. Your Content & Data
6.1 Ownership
You own all Content you enter into WorkAm. We do not claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your business data.
6.2 Data Export
You may export your data at any time using the Data Backup feature (Settings > Data Backup). Exports are available in CSV and PDF formats.
6.3 Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time (Settings > Your Data & Privacy > Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Certain records may be retained for up to 6 years as required by Nigerian financial regulations.
6.4 Licence to Us
By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and transmit your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your Content for any other purpose.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or activity
- Record fraudulent or fictitious transactions
- Share your account credentials with unauthorised persons
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use automated tools to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
- Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Interfere with the operation of the App or our servers
- Use the App to store or transmit data that infringes the rights of any third party
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
- The App, its design, code, logos, and branding are owned by GetWorkAm LTD and protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws
- "WorkAm" is a trademark of GetWorkAm LTD
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App
- You retain all rights to your business data (see Section 6)
9. Third-Party Services
WorkAm integrates with the following third-party services:
- Paystack — for subscription payment processing (subject to Paystack's Terms)
- Supabase — for cloud data storage and sync
- WhatsApp — for sending payment reminders (via deep links; we do not access your WhatsApp account)
We are not responsible for the availability, security, or terms of third-party services.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- WorkAm is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GetWorkAm LTD, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law
- Any Content you enter into the App that infringes the rights of a third party
12. Suspension & Termination
12.1 By You
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your subscription payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days
- We are required to do so by law or regulatory order
- We discontinue the Service (with 90 days' prior notice)
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- You may export your data for 30 days after termination
- After 30 days, your cloud data may be deleted (local device data remains until you uninstall)
- Financial records may be retained for up to 6 years as required by law
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
13.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@getworkam.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
13.3 Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved by arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, under the rules of the Lagos Court of Arbitration. The arbitration shall be conducted in English.
13.4 Courts
For disputes not subject to arbitration, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, natural disasters, government actions, or epidemics.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you disagree with any changes, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before the changes take effect.
16. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GetWorkAm LTD
- Severability: If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to a successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition
